Description
With an overnight soy sauce marinade, a quick sear on a hot grill and the correct slicing technique (always against the grain), you can take a lean flank steak and make it oh-so-tender.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons water
- 3 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon canola oil
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 beef flank steak (1 pound)
Directions
- In a shallow dish, combine the first 7 ingredients; add steak and turn to coat. Cover and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight, turning occasionally.
- Drain steak, discarding marinade. Grill, covered, over medium-high heat for 6-8 minutes on each side or until meat reaches desired doneness (for medium-rare, a thermometer should read 135°; medium, 140°; medium-well, 145°).
